Banners are considered to be "temporary signage" which means they are not intended to be a permanent sign solution. There are however ways to extend the life of your banner. Take a look at the following suggestions to get the MAXIMUM LIFE out of your banner: 1. Do not fold your banner when storing. Folding a vinyl banner causes small creases to form which will weaken the banner material over time. We suggest rolling your banner around a tube or rolling your banner and storing it in the tube in which it was shipped. In addition to increasing the life of the banner, it will also look good the next time you need it. Shipping tubes double as a great way to store your banners. They come with every banner order. 2. When possible, attach your banner to a solid backboard or wall using all grommets to secure the banner. The banner shown below was installed onto a wood sign in July, 2010 and as of April, 2014, still looks good. Of course the colors have faded from their original vibrancy but due to the installation method, the banner is still in working condition. 3. If you plan to display your banner outdoors for more than a couple of days, avoid installing your banner between two temporary fence posts. Your banner will initially look fine using this installation method but after a few windy days the fence posts will pull inward, causing your banner to loosen. Once the banner becomes loose, the life of the banner can decrease quickly. Our banner a-frame is a great alternative to using fence posts. Example of a grommet being torn out due to an improper install. Once a grommet is ripped out, it does not take long before the banner becomes shredded in windy conditions. 4. Never leave wet banners rolled up inside a hot vehicle. Depending on the type of inks used, the combination of moisture and heat can damage the printed surface of your banner. Rolling a wet banner for a short period of time is not a problem. Just be sure to dry it off before storing.

I appreciated it when you shared that banners are used as temporary signage to market your brand. However, it can be used for a long time with proper care and storage. I would like to think if a company needs to market its business through a banner, it should consider looking for a reliable service that can produce it and make sure to take care of it so it can be used for a long time.
